Literally, the billion dollar question is: Are SSIs still in need of more and more assistance and exemptions from the State? Of late, SSI sector has achieved a growth of 8.1%. It has gone up from almost Rs.1850bn (2000-2001) to almost Rs.2450bn (2004-2005), as per the report of Development Commissioner, SSI.
