Stephen Sommers’ The Mummy and its sequel could necessarily not have done with a lesser locale but even Karan Johar could not resist cashing in on their inviting intrigue for a lilting number in his Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. The mystery of these magnificent structures, stemming from their great antiquity, complexity of construction, enormous size and physical grandeur, elicit awe like no other man-made edifice. Hosting the three great pyramids of khufu, khafra and menkaura along with the Sphinx, the Giza plateau simply leaves you spell-bound. Ain’t that enough to make history...?!
