Philippine’s 
oldest telecom operator – Eastern Telecommunications Philippines Inc. (ETPI) has decided to finally upgrade its current existing fixed-network infrastructure. ETPI has roped in Nokia’s services for the same. The generic task for the Finnish giant will actually be the installation of a Next-Generation Core in the telecom operator and make it operational. Yes, indeed a tough modernisation task for any company, but are we forgetting that it’s the $85 billion company who’s been handed over the challenge?
